Our Approach
We take a locally-driven approach to making a national impact.
To root out hate and violence, we’re strengthening critical infrastructure, providing resources and support to community organizations, and galvanizing public and private partnerships to solve challenges across the country.
We do this by:
Developing a greater understanding of community experiences and needs.
Whether it’s street lights or city ambassadors—we’re listening to the community about what they need to make them feel safer from physical assault, verbal harassment, and targeted robbery.
Sharing best safety practices.
We’re taking what we and our partners have learned and sharing across TAAF Anti-Hate National Network cities.
Advocating for increased government prioritization and resources for AANHPI safety.
Our partners advocate for city, state, or federal legislation to prevent and respond to violent incidents, as well as advocate for resources for community healing.
Increasing the capacity of local community infrastructure.
Initiatives like TAAF Cities leverage local partnerships to prevent and protect against further attacks.
Equipping individuals to de-escalate incidents and build stronger relationships with other anti-hate and safety groups.
Our nonprofit partners are empowering community members through programs like bystander/upstander trainings.
