TAAF Statement on the Tragic Death of Arthur Folasa Ah Loo

Our hearts are with the family and friends of Arthur Folasa “Afa” Ah Loo, an innocent bystander who was tragically shot and killed during a “No Kings” demonstration in Salt Lake City on Saturday. 

We stand with the Pacific Islander community who has lost an important voice and advocate. As the first Samoan to compete in Project Runway, Afa was dedicated to uplifting his heritage and culture through his designs. He was also a cofounder of the nonprofit Creative Pacific, creating a platform to celebrate artists from the Pacific Islands.
