Daniel Dae Kim’s 3AD, Gold House, and TAAF Debut Sunrise House, the Official AAPI House at the Sundance Film Festival

(Los Angeles, CA) - 3AD, Gold House, and The Asian American Foundation (TAAF), in partnership with several major Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) and multicultural partners, today announced the official AAPI House at the Sundance Film Festival. Under the unifying banner of the Sunrise Collective, these three organizations will host three days of interactive programming during opening weekend, January 20 to 22, 2023, at Riverhorse on Main Street.

The Sunrise Collective will convene notable AAPI and multicultural creative and business leaders in conversations and panels around the current and future state of AAPIs and AAPI representation in front of and behind the camera. The weekend will feature appearances by Nina Yang Bongiovi, Apoorva Guru Charan, Sherry Cola, Ally Maki, Randall Park, and Saim Sadiq, and creative collaborations with James Jean (artist), and Joe Hahn (from the band Linkin Park), with more to be announced.

In addition, the Sunrise Collective will host evening tentpole events including intimate dinners provided by Michelin-starred COTE Korean Steakhouse and proprietor Simon Kim and Chinese Peruvian fine-casual restaurant, Chifa 國偉. The Sunrise House will also host a Lunar New Year bash to ring in the new year.

Earlier this year, the Sundance Institute and The Asian American Foundation (TAAF) launched the “Sundance Institute | The Asian American Foundation Fellowship and Collab Scholarship” to provide Asian American and Pacific Islander storytellers with creative and tactical support to develop their skills and bring their projects to life. The Fellowship and the Scholarship aim to improve AAPI representation in the film, theater, and television industries long-term by cultivating AAPI artists and elevating their stories.
